Sweet Handmade Heart Minaudieres for Valentines Day!

January 26, 2012

Heart Minaudieres by Ellen Medlock Studio

Just dropping in to let everyone know that we now have our Limited Edition Heart Minaudiere Clutches up on the website!

They make the sweetest Valentine presents for a special someone ~ or yourself of course! (I know I can’t be the only one who gets a few little treats for myself on Valentine’s Day, right?!)

We had so much fun making these here in the studio. Please note that some Minaudieres have been specially coated to give the fabric a shiny and more durable finish and some are the plain fabric with a softer finish. It’s up to you!

Here are a few more examples:

New! The Charmant Clutch Pattern~

October 8, 2011

So happy to finally have my new cover art completed for “The Charmant Clutch” bag pattern. It will be our Fall Market introduction!
Check  my website, www.ellenmedlock.om next week for pre-ordering. Expect it to ship the first week of November.

I have never had so much fun making samples, as with this fun pattern! Soooooo quick and simple!
Not only is this a NO-SEW project, we will also be stocking the cool clip-on Purse Hanger (butterfly silhouette), as well as the other charms- the silver key and lady bug are the first to arrive!

The fabric of the clutch on the cover is a very simple and classic gingham check called, “Take the Check”,  which is part of the new fabric line…due to arrive in March 2012,  “Natural Graffiti”.

More clutch images to come!

Thank you,

ellen

NEW! Interchangeable4 Pattern & Handle

April 28, 2011

I’m so excited to announce the arrival (finally!) of my newest Interchangeable bag pattern – the Interchangeable4!
It was delivered to the Studio today, and we immediately began shipping your preorders.

This shoulder bag is right on trend with it’s larger size and rounded shape. And of course – it’s Interchangeable! Just switch out the bag body and reuse the handle. The Interchangeable line has proven to be very popular, and it was time to introduce something a little larger and roomier. One of the interior pockets even has room to hold an Ipad, Kindle, or a Nook.

Please note that this bag was designed specifically for the 12″wide Interchangeable4 metal purse frame, which is sold separately from the pattern. Why not attach a cute 21″ clip-on bag chain to complete your look?

I hope you will love it as much as I do!

Bohemian Butterflies Quilt

April 29, 2010

Very excited to share the new quilt designed for my company, Ellen Medlock, LLC  by Jean Ann Wright with my Enchanted Damask Fabric Collection!
The finished quilt size is 54″ x 66″, featuring three 12″ x 12″ darling applique butterfly quilt blocks.

Their scalloped “bohemian” style wings are reminescent of the Art Deco period of design a la the 1920′s. (I don’t know about you, but I am sure noticing more and more Deco design influence  sneaking into home decor, as well as quilting!)

Jean Ann tells me this is a Beginner Level quilt. Her excellent  instructions walk you through construction and applique technique. I am awaiting the printing of the paper version of the quilt pattern, and hope to have the downloadable quilt pattern ready asap! For more info and preodering check out my store!

New! Enchanted Damask Bag, Quilt & FABRIC!

April 21, 2010

My ship has literally “come in”! Please allow me to introduce  my new tiny but mighty fabric line, Enchanted Damask! Three colorways are available- Citrus, Turquoise and Fuchsia for the Damask design and it’s coordinating Spring Dot.
Check out the two free quilt designs by Jean Ann Wright featuring this fabric. Truly love the quilt shown above, “Bohemian Butterflies” , which will be free for wholesale purchases of the full 6 Piece Collection, as well as sold individually.

Just finished the super roomy diy bag, The BonVivant! It is shown above in the Fuchsia colorway of both Enchanted Damask and Spring Dot.  Busy having fun creating lots of fun projects to showcase this versatile fabric group…will share as soon as I have a moment to snap a few photos! I sure hope it moves though US Customs quicky, and makes it to your fav quilt/sewing shop asap for YOUR sewing fun! And don’t forget to share your creativity with me please… on facebook, twitter, and flickr!

Slide Show of Preppy Mini Tote Bags from my sewing pattern!

Hello! Just a note to let you know that the Preppy Mini-Tote Pattern instructions are now available for download in my online store! Little by little, I am working through those bag patterns by my studio,  that do not include a large pattern piece! (have not figured out how to manage those yet! Ha!)

In the case of the retro Preppy Mini Tote, you will need a pair of wood handles to complete the “look” but those are also available online from my studio, or hopefully from your local quilting/sewing shop!

Happy BagMaking!
